3 WEEKS AND I CAN GET NO WHERE! Can't talk to people in the USA, only people who LIE to you!

They do not want to pay for my drugs they want me to go thru drug failures so I can be sick trying their formulatory drugs that have already been tried with a different insurance company. I now am out of pills and it is like "oh well" go pay for them yourself! Already got screwed once doing that (although with a different insurance company).

8 PHONE CALLS AND NO RESULTS, they request info from my doctor they reply and then well we need more info so they send it on a Friday afternoon so I can go without my drugs for the weekend as well who cares it is just my health. I am sure they would rather I just die and not be a burden to them.

Our company switched to CIGNA, and it has been a nightmare, they deny prescriptions seemingly at random and change plan names and coverages yearly to confuse the consumer.

I'm on fmla and have been since the end of July. I haven't been paid since August.

It's been a literal back and forth. They want records, I send it to them. They decide to wait two weeks to ask for more from my doctor. They send it to the WRONG DOCTOR and I only find out when I'm being screamed at by my caseworker who forces me to make the call.

They called a clinic that has nothing to do with me!

Then she wants to threaten to close my case.

I talk with her boss and practically am told she did nothing wrong.

Today I talked over the chat with them as I no longer trust their phone calls. I'm told they have yet to hear from my doc about another paper they sent to her. I call my doc and she has nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I'm told they'll send it again in 48 hours.

I'm over here, not able to buy my meds or go to my therapist or even be able to make any other appointment. If it weren't for the kindness of my daughter I wouldn't be able to buy food. I had to ask for rent relief.

My anxiety is through the roof with this company! They're delaying my healing process as they're putting me off and more.

I'm doing my part, they can't do theirs?

I'm sick and tired and it wasn't worth it to go on fmla for my health.

My denial says 'you claim you are unable to work due to depression however, we do not see anything supporting this'. How can you have anything supporting it if you keep sending stuff to the wrong clinic? How can I possibly go to work under these conditions?

I had to beg my doctor to go back to work in order to provide myself a living and she didn't want to. She thinks I should try not to work as much.

But not working is costing me extensively.

I have no medicine. I couldn't make it to my therapy appointment.

I couldn't go for my infusion for my lupus. I'm almost out of insulin.

Cigna hates its customers.

My son passed away unexpectedly in April. I've been off of work since then, have only received two checks. There is no sense of urgency when helping customers, the lack of follow up, communication and feelings of getting the run around for benefits that I work and pay for is appalling. Thank God I don't have to depend on the lack of payments that are due to me. That's going to be a fat *** check when it's said and done with.

Dissatisfied with coverage

Original review Jan 21, 2021

When HealthSpring was by itself it was a wonderful Medicare Advantage Plan. However, when Cigna bought Health Spring in 2012 it has consistently gone downhill.

We live in a retirement community with a population of about 30,000 people.

We have a lot of medical providers in the area, but very few accept Cigna HealthSpring.

Cigna claims to provide eyecare, but what they do provide is really terrible. Recently I went to the only local optometrist that accepted Cigna Health Spring. I had their exam, but the cost of new glasses was outrageous. I would have had to spend an additional $200.00 over and above what Cigna allowed.

I went to Costco and purchased my new glasses. Because of the additional feature I requested, (progressive lenses instead of bifocals with a line) my glasses cost $49.00 more than the allowed $150.00 benefit provided by Cigna.

I had to pay the entire amount, $219.00) out of pocket which was ok, and then submitted a claim to Cigna's optical insurance provider, Superior Vision.

My claim was denied because I didn't use a Cigna approved provider.

In addition to optical providers ,there is only one medical provider that accepts Cigna Health Spring. The same goes for other specialists in our area.

I think we will be changing Medicare Advantage Plans providers on our next go around.

Horrible

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Applied for health insurance at the earliest possible time, over six weeks ago. Cigna collected my premium soon after. Four weeks later, they cancelled and refunded my premium for no apparent reason, I only found out because I called to check why I couldn't create a membership account. Called numerous times, sometimes waiting almost an hour. Then Cigna claimed Marketplace cancelled it or I cancelled it! Finally talked again with someone (after almost half an hour wait earlier) and they said they reviewed the file (literally just today after so many calls) and they admitted there was no termination instruction! But then, they said I still have to wait 3 to 5 business days so the can "review" what happened. And it is now almost the end of the year. The WORST ever...

Dental claims

These are the most incompetent claims representatives ever. I have been doing Dental Insurance for 35 plus years. They had my original claim sitting in an inbox for 2 months. When I called I was told to resubmit claim, I did when I called for the 3rd time again told no claim. Complete run around with very incompetent representatives.

Service and Coverage

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I called Cigna Dental in the Fall to see if I could enhance my coverage. They told me I had to wait until the end of the policy. The policy ended in March, but I was still active and continued to receive bills. I called to discuss renewal options and to enhance the policy, but was told I missed the renewal period and to "plan better next year". I missed the renewal window by five days. I did not understand how it worked and was given the run around by the call center team. I've been with Cigna for several years and rather than trying to really help me they gave me excuses. In order to truly take advantage of what Cigna has to offer in the way of dental, you really have to plan accordingly, but I would have liked to have been given some leeway as a loyal customer rather than having them just cancel my policy. They did not even try to help me. Very disappointed. I would not recommend Cigna Dental.

Basically Cigna keeps stringing you along with denials saying they are waiting on paperwork from your doctors. They never get back to you just blame others and don't pay even though your claim is 100% legit.
