CIGNA the money grabbers took nearly half of my husbands settlement from the Pradaxa class action lawsuit. He was forced to take this medication when my previous employer switched from Medical Mutual to CIGNA.

Medical Mutual had no problem authorizing in home blood tests for INR checks for the blood thinner Coumadin for 4.5 years. CIGNA refused so we had to find a medication that he could take that wouldn't require blood tests. My husband ended up in ICU for 5 days with a gastrointestinal bleed after less than 4 months on Pradaxa. He was awarded $125,000 which was reduced to $104,000 after a lot of people jumped onboard when the settlement was announced.

After attorney fees he should have received $58,000. However CIGNA liened the settlement & took almost half leaving us with very little to pay for his care (Mike is now so ill he is in a hospital bed @ home). But greedy money grubbing CIGNA had to take almost half of the award from a man who is seriously ill, whose health was ruined by this gastrointestinal bleed.

Shame shame shame on u CIGNA. U caused the problem in the first place.
