Careful, not Vanbreda anymore - good people have fled this company! Since CIGNA has taken over Vanbreda, there is a sharp drop in the level of service, including communication, the speed of processing claims and disputes of medical nature.

What practically happens is that CIGNA is putting up nonsense administrative hurdles with some hope that you would not follow through until a reimbursement - questioning standard medical procedures (unnecessary requests for medical reports that are anyways not read), forgetting about prior approvals granted (and asking for additional reports for this reason, even if you explain over the phone that approval was granted) etc.

In most cases, the discussion is not about amounts (where CIGNA could propose a lower rate of reimbursement), but a fully-fledged debate whether on questions like is a hearing test necessary following an acute loss of hearing. If you have the choice and you are not obliged by your employer, do not come anywhere near this company - they will damage your health more than any disease would.
