Cigna review: Denial of need needed

Just now fighting with Cigna to approve my Husbands acute Rehabilation Ctr. My Husband had a stroke about year ago . since then he has had vascular surgery, cancer surgery and stokes. He is now in the Hospital but cannot walk Doctor wants him to go to a Acute rehab ctr. he was accepted by Burke rehab but cigna denied it. I am paying out so much money figuring i had good insurance but now after this i am going to look into other insurances. who are they to deny the Doctors orders. What is healthcare coming to I am so angry . most of my money goes to Cigna and this is what happens not good. Instead of taking the money insurance company should be out for the patient not the money. i am so upset

Cigna review in Burbank, California: Very dissatisfied

I am a very dissatisfied customer. After a reemergence of thyroid cancer was discovered in a lymph node in my neck (in 2011), I have had consistent and excellent care by a specific endocrinologist at Cedars-Sinai. Cigna does not prioritize my continued care with said endocrinologist. Though I called and asked whether my doctor was in network and was told an unequivocal "yes", the Cedars-Sinai Medical Group has a complicated multi-tiered system and when my PCP attempted to officially refer me to my doctor, the referral was denied. I then wrote an appeal and two months later was denied. The denial letter made it sound like my appeal was ridiculous. Consistent, continued care with a doctor you know and trust, who understands the details of your case and history and with whom you do not need to "catch them up" is not ridiculous--especially when she is at the same facility and a part of the same group for which I specifically signed up in order to continue seeing her!! If you wish to keep your doctor, do not choose Cigna!

Dr sent all prescriptions to mail order. They were filled without my requesting them. Sent me a drug that cost $300 that I did not want. Can get much cheaper elsewhere. Even though it came in a sealed tube I was unable to return. Why was the prescription not kept on file until I requested it?

Cigna keeps (trying) to cheat me out of pharmacy meds

Details
My employer offers cigna for health/pharmacy benefits. Since July of 2017, the month it started, Cigna has denied approving my life-saving drug (due to step therapy where they want me to try a different drug and it has to "fail" in helping me before my current drug is partially covered) AND the MD wrote a prescription for the quantity of a testing item I need but Cigna keeps only giving me the amount they want me to have. My state passed a law that says if a patient has done step therapy before , no matter how many insurers I've had, I NEVER have to try a different drug again....Well, Cigna claimed they knew nothing about the law (12 states have enacted this) and tough cookies. I appealed the denial and sent a copy of the signed law. Thirty days later, I was approved to get this med partially covered. Huh. As for the pharmacy issue, they keep allowing only a certain quantity of testing items. The MD wrote a prescription and they would ok the quantity, but I had to argue for it. Every month was the same dance. Then, cigna said I had to get preauthorized for the quantity. So, the MD filled out the forms and called Cigna and Cigna gave her a hard time about it. But it was authorized. I go to get my med and sure enough, Cigna claims I can't have that quantity. So, I called and argued for HALF AN HOUR and was told I was only allowed a certain amount, I don't need pre-auth, and around we go.....Finally, Cigna puts me on hold to speak to the pre-auth dept and VOILA! I'm magically approved!! Yeah, let's see what happens next month... This is a game and a farce and Cigna hopes that patients BACK DOWN and just do what they're told. Well, Not this Jersey Girl.......
