Cigna...Not worth having

We have had Cigna insurance for years through my husband's work, I have a port that needs flushed every 4 weeks and costs $378 but they refuse payment each time saying it's due to a previous medical condition. My OBGyn tells me that I need surgery but my insurance are not willing to cooperate, now I need Gallbladder surgery which is over $10,000 and they will only pay the first $1000....tell me again why I pay them each month?!?!? I could get better service without insurance. I could actually save money I spend more on premiums than they pay.

Cigna is not uncommon in as much as they all suck and are getting worse. However, they may only cry pre-existing for a maximum of 12 months before they are in violation of the new healthcare law.

All the insurance companies are fattening up with the big win they had in the healthcare debate when they killed the single payer option and replaced it with the purchase mandate.

If you actually believe your rates will go down, look at your mandated car insurance rates.

Good luck, fighting with these greedy *^%$^# is a full time job.

Cigna ignores appeal letters

We are trying to get reimbursed for midwifery services since 2010. Calling Cigna is useless - they never know anything, dont know why the bill is not paid even if our plan includes midwifery services. Since May 2011 we are trying to appeal Cigna's decision. They dont even respond to the appeal letters, the last one I sent came back with a note that the address is wrong and Cigna did not have mail forward to their central office. We tried everything we could, will now file a grievance letter with CA state. Poor customer service, poor processes. But - never give up never surrender!

You are dealing with criminals at Cigna..they lie cheat and steal to make their bonuses and have paid TROLLS to come on these boards and FEIGN concern and help..ALWAYS THE SAME PHRASES too!

LetUsHelpU@Cigna.com is designed to delay and confuse you as well as make it look like their company gives a hoot about ANYONE but themselves. Cigna is the WORST example of vulture capitalists I have ever seen!

CIGNA SUCKS

I filed a medical claim for my hospitalization in January 3, 2012 and they issued the payment in Feb 1, 2012. I am the one who filed the claim and I followed the bank details they required in their claim form. Instead of sending the wire transfer on my name on my Philippine Peso bank account they sent it under my husband's names at the same day me and my husband kept calling them and asked them to change the name on the wire transfer until this day nothing has done. Its a simple one to three but they keep telling us different stories. On our previous claims they had our joint account which is in US Dollar but CIGNA keeps sending Philippine Peso in that US Dollar Account and every time they do it I always need to go to the bank and request them to transfer the money which is in Peso to my Peso account. CIGNA are not competent enough to run this kind of services. They keep promising me that things will be solve but until now I am waiting for nothing....

Seriously these Cigna people we have to do something always its a pain Pain PAIN dealing with them. Even for crutches i have problem withthem .

Why why the *** they are like this.

People we are in USA and this is how we are treated??? I thought here in US patients are given more importance and we can get our rights.

Cigna review in East Meadow, New York: A claim that was filed last June is not being addressed properly

I called 8/2011 and was told by the rep that they need to send a letter to the dentist re my daughter's surgery. I was told the same on 9/9/2011. On 10/10 and 11/2 I was told that the insurance didn't receive all docs from the dentist although the dentist told me they did sent everything needed to process the claim. On 10/19 I got a rejection letter due to lack of documents. When I called on 10/25 I was told that they didn't receive all documents. I called the dental office and they assured me they sent everything three times. I called Signa on 11/2 and was surprised to hear that they were able to 'find' all the needed documents. A supervisor confirmed that findings on 11/29 (because I asked to speak to a supervisor after a rep claimed the insurance didn't have the documents yet again), however, on 11/30 I got another rejection letter. I called again 12/27 and was told that all the docs are in and that I will be getting a call. I am still waiting!!!!! Any idea when I will hear from you or better yet get some of the money back?????

The DO receive your faxes! They just LIE to you! HOW will you

PROVE them wrong???

THAT is EXACTLY what they count on! Have any faxes with delivery receipts AND all mail by certified mail. Record ANY telephone conversations and make sure and get delivery receipts on all emails and SAVE the emails!

YOU are NOT dealing with normal business here! They run their company like the old Mafioso without the hitmen and beatings! The will lie cheat and steal to save a buck for their beloved Cigna and in return get bonuses and stroking!

I am actually surprised the LetUsHelpU@Cigna.com CLOWN POSSE has not stopped by here to tell you how much they want to TRY to help. It is a PR campaign where people are PAID to troll complaints about Cigna and make it look like they actually give a flip...ONE dirty company !

I do feel what you feel. The same incident happened to me.

I filed a claim for my son's hospitalization last October but CIGNA told me they didn't received anything.

I sent it by fax 3x and they i sent them the original via mail but they kept telling me they haven't received anything and the worst part is that I couldn't ask for invoice from the hospital and the invoices from the medicines. At present I am asking them to reissue my claims but they keep delaying it.

CIGNA DELAYS NECESSARY TESTS

I have a bi-cupsid aortic value and aortic aneurysm. I am being treated/watched by one of the best cardiologist in the US at the University of Penn in Philadelphia. Prior to my rotator cuff surgery I had to be cleared for surgery and my cardiologist wanted to run some additional tests because I failed my stress test. Cigna said no. My cardiologist isn't used to being told no and because Cigna delayed in getting back to him I had to reschedule my rotator cuff surgery. Finally, my cardiologist got approval to run a stress test that uses a chemical to stimulate my heart instead of exercise. I was cleared for surgery but my cardiologist said he has never had to deal with the incompetence that he had to at Cigna.

CIGNA OVERPAYS HOSPITAL FOR TESTS AND DOESN'T CARE

I had a an echocardiogram at Jennersville Regional Hospital in Jennersville, PA in April 2011. Cigna wasn't paying an $85 OB/GYN fee for bogus reasons so I checked to see how much they paid for this test. I couldn't believe that it was more than $10,000. Yes, ten thousand dollars. I checked several sites to see how much this should have cost and it should have been about $1,000. I called Cigna and was told that it must be ok because it was approved and paid. I had a second echocardiogram at another, much bigger hospital a few months later and the bill was $850.

Nobody gets any real help. Someone contacts you and gives you the brush off but has either been successful in delaying or confusing you. This is the WORST company I have ever seen! At least everyone knew the mob might screw them, but people try to trust their insurance people thinking that laws protect them.

it has been 18 years and you never would help Robert get a fair review of his medical films that were taken away from Robert by your referring doctors. Robert knows bad things can happen in surgury BUT to be dumped and everything taken from him and everything being covered up that just not right. You can't hide Roberts problem Roberts body shows it ' without even having test taken. It's time to resovle this because Robert has no problem in telling the world what you allow. Are you one of the paid Cigna trolls? Do not really believe any doctor would have the indecency to say what you just said especially since he did NOT name any doctors by name!
