Cigna lied about the services included in my policy

I have now been a member of Cigna for a few months and have found out that the sales representative lied to me about 2 different items. I signed up for a health and dental plan. The sales representative told me that I would pay 15$ for generic perscriptions and 30$ for name brand. The reality is that generics were in fact low priced but the name brands would cost me full price and Cigna won't cover any of it. Thats a pretty big lie in my book. Then I found out yesterday that having dental insurance doesn't mean squat. I had a filling pop out and could not eat or drink anything because of the pain. I made an emergency appointment with my dentist only to find out that Cigna doesn't cover emergency's until after 6 months or 12 months. In my mind I have insurance exactly for the reason of emergency's. Again, this is where the sales rep lied to me. I fully understand not covering elective procedures but to not cover emergency procedures, that is absurd. This is a huge lie by the sales representative. I then called customer service to try and deal with the dental situation and was given the run around and told that the only way I could attempt to get Cigna to cover the procedure was to write an appeal. So let me get this straight, your company lies to me, sells me a bag of goods, and then tells me its my problem and my responsibility to fix? Does this sound like a scam to anyone else? I will be cancelling my policy with Cigna and finding a company that is honest, knows what customer service actually is, and actually provides the services that you pay for.

Cigna sucks

I currently have a bulging and herniated disc that it's to a point that it is obstructing my bowel movement and I am in so much pain that pain medication or anti inflamatory medication has helped. I did the epidural steroid shots, which have worsen my condition. I have seek three doctors opinion on the network and all have recommened surgery, which Cigna has denied and want me to go to physical therapy and take pain medication for a year before they can re consider my surgery.. my pain is so severe that the pain medication that I am currently taking are not helping me..

GWC aka Cigna

In 2011 my employer used GWC aka Cigna, the rates were reasonable. But the Medical Insurance Company lied and did not pay for any medical services from my PCP office visits. I would call GWC prior to visiting my doctor to see if they were in-network and got a yes. Visited the doctor, then they would not pay their share, I got bills from the doctors and found out they just refused. Then found out they said it was a pre-existing/credible coverage issue. I then fax'd them the proper forms to GWC-Cigna and they kept saying they lost the forms for four months. Now a year later they are telling me it is a "Pre-ex and coverage you had prior had no impact on this determination. It's simply an excluded benefit". Guess they got the bonus for not doing their job. Moral is always get a hard copy of any dealing with medical insurance. TRUST NO ONE IN THE MEDICAL INSURANCE BUSINESS!

CIGNA INSURANCE

IF YOU HAVE CIGNA INSURANCE, BEFORE YOU FILE A CLAIM.......HIRE A LAWYER TO FILE IT FOR YOU. YOU WILL NEED THEM. I have been dealing with them since last year concerning STD and LTD benefits. They will do everything and anything NOT to pay you the benefits that you have paid for when you bought your policy. I would have NEVER BOUGHT A POLICY FROM CIGNA had I read the information on "Pissed Consumer" first. Don't make the mistake that I and others have made. Get your oun policy from anyone other than Cigna, I don't care what it cost.

I AM A MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDER ON CIGNA PANEL. I HAVE NOT HAD ONE CLAIM THAT WAS NOT PROBLEMATIC. I DO BELIEVE THEY MAKE IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET REIMBURSEMENT UNLESS YOU PROCESS THE CLAIM ELECTRONICALLY. FIRST THEY HAVE THE INCORRECT CLAIM ADDRESS, WHEN U CALL IT...

I paid into Cigna for 15 years and made minimal claims. A few months ago because of a snafu at my bank Cigna autodraw was denied.

I resolved it within a week and paid them. Unknown to me because of one late payment in 15 years Cigna canceled my autodraw, therefore I miss my next payment and they canceled my policy. I found out a couple of months later when I tried to renew a prescription. Called them and they said they could not renew my pre ACA policy and would not sell me any insurance until the next open enrollment.

Therefore I am now uninsured.....

I think they took advantage of the situation to cancel me before I might need medical care. I'm 61.

CIGNA INSURANCE IS A TOTAL JOKE!

YOU MUST CALL FOR EVERY CLAIM, USUALLY MORE THAN ONCE, FOR CLAIM TO BE PROCESSED OR PAID. IF YOU WANT TO CALL IT PAID. MOST OF THE CLAIMS MY FAMILY HAS HAD, ENDED UP BEING $0 PAID BY CIGNA AND US PAYING A PORTION OF AMOUNT BILLED. A TOTAL JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!! WE MUST ALL BE THE DUMB ONE'S FOR NOT OWNING OUR OWN INSURANCE COMPANY! I FEEL AS IF I SHOULD BE GETTING A PAYCHECK FROM CIGNA! IT'S BEYOND INSANE!!!!!! THIS HASN'T HAPPEND JUST ONCE OR TWICE, IT'S EVERY TIME THERE'S A CLAIM. IT'S HARDLY WORTH HAVING INSURANCE!

Cigna is the worst insurance

This company would do anything to save a dime. I fell and my knee is a grapefruit. If the turns at all; then I am on the floor. It is very unstable. Doctor tested the knee in the office but the insurance company knows the best. Doctor wants an MRI and they are denying it; stating that I have to have 6-8 weeks of pain killers and steroids without knowing what is wrong. Nothing like prescribing drugs without knowing the person or situation. I have Cigna through my employer and I am starting a campaign to have them remove this provider and replace them with an insurance company that does the job ethically.

Cigna Is the absolute worst medical coverage I have ever had in MY LIFE. I SWEAR TO *** god...these people must throw out claims.

I have been attempting to reach my $3,000 out of network deductible since January and it is now August.I send them claims, for different medical providers, in the same envelopes, and HALF GET posted and the other half are magically LOST.

I want to know why the HARD WORKING PEOPLE GET SCREWED. They tell me that they will not even ACKNOWLEDGE the full out of pocket expense towards my deductible, even though they are not yet expected to reimburse me, b/c of usual and customary percentage rates THAT CHANGE DAILY.

I am in the same boat. Cigna preaches many things on being too notch in the early detection of breast cancer.

I have extremely dense breast tissue and a family history. My most recent mammogram detected a cluster of lesions. After an unsuccessful needle biospy as well as an unsuccessful surgical biopsy my surgeon recommended a breast MRI. Thinking after weeks of worrying I'd finally have an answer I counted down the days.

But the evening before my MRI was scheduled I learned cigna had denied coverage stating a MRI was not medically necessary. Although their own website says a breast MRI is necessary sometimes for early detection of breast tissue is dense. So, thank you cigna for thinking possible breast cancer isn't a justified reason for a MRI. So, what should I do after waiting for my next mammogram should this be cancer?

I cant help but feel someone would be accountable in some way. They say be an advocate for your own health. How is this possible with an insurance company caring so little for its customers? So upset, worried, and very disappointed in Cigna.

And not to mention the people you speak with all seem to have no information and no knowledge about the policies and procedures for cigna!

The most frustrating position I have ever been in. Thanks cigna!
