Cigna review in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania: WORST insurance ever

I severely injured my knee on Easter Sunday.Went to urgent care facility, told by doctor that she was certain that I had either a meniscus tear or ACL tear. X-ray is pointless, but an MRI would confirm. Referred to orthopedic surgeon, who said same thing and submitted a thorough pre certification request on Tuesday morning. CIGNA denied request on Friday. I was told that an X-ray was proper protocol for my injury and that it was necessary. I got my X-ray on Friday, which of course showed nothing because and x-ray cannot show ligament damage. SO now I have to go through this whole approval procedure again, and probably will not hear anything until Wednesday at the earliest. 10 entire days to maybe get a daignosis. All wasted time and sick leave from my job because of CIGNA. I switched from Blue Cross to save some money, but I will switch back next year. I never had this problem before with necessary tests.Ridiculous. STAY AWAY.

Cigna preventing patients from using federal rights

Under the Affordable Care Act, several preventive medications are now available for free. But good luck finding out about this or what medications qualify if you have Cigna. I scoured the website that patients are sent to -- nothing. I then spent an hour on the phone with them until they begrudgingly gave me an html address (not on the mycigna.com site) that, surprise!, listed all the free preventive medications. No one at Cigna could tell me why the information was not available on the website used by patients. I have not tried to get any of these meds at no-cost yet, but I'm sure Cigna will fight back. Technically, they may be complying with the law, but they sure don't make it available to their customers. I won't even go into the pharmacy bait and switch they did on me last year. It might make my head explode to revisit it.

CIGNA = Not reputable or responsible at this time!

I am here trying to correct a mistake that has been repeated for three years now. I informed CIGNA that my PCP doctor changed 2+ years ago and they still keep sending me ID Cards with the wrong PCP and charging me for out of network fees which makes me livid!!! I called recently and requested the change again, speaking for an extended period with a rep who took down all my info after I explained my concerns...AGAIN! A week later the same WRONG CARD arrives AGAIN! I am losing faith in CIGNA's ability to honestly manage my medical benefits with integrity. Today, half the webpage info I am trying to access says the info is unable to load "We're sorry. We had trouble loading this..." Additionally there is nowhere to submit a complaint/concern on the site...it keeps referring you to call their #'s as opposed to emailing or submitting online. I feel like this site is not designed to maximize customer communication. In fact, it feels like a waste of time for correcting/communicating with such an important part of my life... CIGNA=not reputable or responsible at this time!

Cigna review: RUDE office mgr. Billing Errors- Contract errors, Refused Treatment!

I have two sons that have both received treatment through Dr. Cigna. The last contract with my youngest son has been a nightmare of billing errors and HOURS of trying to get the contract straightened out. He was refused treatment for SIX MONTHS< yet they accepted $635 in payments from me during the same time. They kept saying we were not in agreement with the what was due on the remainder of the contract. THEY REFUSED TO TREAT HIM! WHEN I CALLED TO MAKE AN APPT> THEY SAID I HAD TO TALK TO BILLING! They wanted me to pay $1,200 in cash up front. To date I have paid them more than $8,000 in fees for both my sons. TODAY when I tried to make an appt. and question the recent bill (which was $200 more than last months and there was even a $244 payment applied to it!!!) They told me there were CANCELLING MY SON's TREATMENT! The vindictive, rude and hateful 'office administrator' again! She once told me she hired the inept billing manager from within her church because she needed a job. Yep--- that makes me LESS frustrated! (sarcasm)I am contacting an attorney.

Cigna is a picture of whats wrong with healthcare

In 16 years, anything that is done that is not a routine visit to the doctor, is initially denied by cigna. I then have to call and sit on hold for usually 10-15 minutes before speaking to a person. After explaining the problem they usually say that there was an error and they will take care of it right away. Either they are counting on people just paying the bill and not calling them on it, or they are completely incompetent. Their Dental coverage seems worse than medical. At least I have an option of another provider for dental. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with Cigna for medical. From what I hear, most health insurance companies are not much better.

CIGNA has the WORST rating by customers of ANY major insurance brand, They are NOTORIOUS for denying medical claims, short and long term disability claims. They have so many lawsuits against them I can not even begin to count them all...and it's all for the same basic reason..they SCREW PEOPLE!!!!

AT least they haven't come here with their LetUsHelpU@cigna.com ***!

THAT is a TOTAL waste of time!! But that is what it is designed for..to delay you and have ONE MOPRE PERSON tell you that Cigna does NOT have to help you...and they also TROLL these boards and MANY other places trying to clean up their criminal image!!!!

Cigna review in Harrisville, Rhode Island: They won't cover ANYTHING

Cigna is the absolute worst insurance company I have ever had to deal with! I have a multitude of spinal problems. They will no longer cover physical therapy, chiropractic services, and now that my neurologist is requesting a new mri & x-rays, they are calling it "frivolous". I am so furious I cannot even stand it. If my many back isues continue to worsen due to MRI services not being available to deduce whether surgery will be helpful, I would be interested in joining in any class action lawsuit that arises. I am certain that I am not alone! This is not the first, nor is it the only issue I have had with this horrible company.

I am also having the damndest time with Cigna. I have been out of work for 2 months now and I have sent in all the paperwork asked of me and even called my Case Manager to verify that he had all the paperwork required and was told yes and if more was needed I'd be notified.

Well yesterday when I logged on to the MyCigna Website I noticed that under the "Manage Claims" link it is now saying that I have no claims for the past 90 days, so I'm assuming my claim has been denied.

Anyone else experienced this craziness?

And if so what do you do next, I need help cause God knows Cigna and my employer isn't trying to help. :cry :( :upset

We has the same issue today with an MRI that should have easily been approved so the doctor could evaluate if my daughter needs surgery or just a shot. Cigna wants to change the doctor's MRI order.

They haven't even seen her or fully understand her condition.

I pick my doctor's wisely and they are more concerned about their bottom line then our health. Dealt with many insurance companies and they are the absolute worse.

I received the most vague bill I've ever seen from my health insurance company. (my copay for a doctors visit is $10. 30 for a specialist) $162 - "This is the portion of your bill that's not covered by your CIGNA plan. You may or may not need to pay this amount. See...

This is a Colorado scam! Was it UCHealth aka University of Colorado Physicians?

Cigna and a CU dermatologist did the exact same thing to my husband, he called and they said yes, go there, you're covered. The dermatologist did a skin patch test after they had his Cigna card and they told him it was in network. He just got served papers to appear in civil court for $3800, and thanks to Colorado SB 17-216, all the debt buyer has to do is show the original account number, the amount, and the original medical provider and the debt is presumed to be valid.

Oh, and Colorado just Sunset-ed the Collection Agency Review Board. Our elected officials are complete ***

Humulin is $24.88 at Walmart. Which one does your doctor prescribe? Insurances do not pay for everything their patient may take.

I just switched to Cigna on Jan 1. The website showed that none of my daughter's insulin would be covered.

I called the Cigna reps and they told me I just have to have my doctor call in an authorization and then it will all be covered.

Call the 800 back and see if this is an option for you as well.

You need to provide more information. Is your employer self-insured? Many employers are these days, and it is the employer, not the insurer that determines what is or is not covered. The insurance company simply administers the plan, but the employer retains control of the coverage elections.

It is possible that your employer's human resources department or other dedicated insurance manager didn't carefully make elections to mirror the same plan when switching from your previous carrier to the new carrier. This does not necessarily mean that your current insurance carrier is the one at fault for not covering the insulin.

You cannot make a blanket statement like, "CIGNA does not cover insulin" when in fact, an employee working for another company who also has CIGNA as there insurance carrier, gets their insulin covered because their employer elected to cover it.

Cigna review in Chicago, Illinois: They cover NOTHING!!

My advice to anyone who is stuck with this insurance is to get a different insurance for having a family! Had two other children with a different insurance company, and never had any problems with prenatal care, blood tests, ultrasounds, etc. Stuff that you take for granted to be covered are not under this bottom of a barrel company. Unfortunately this is the only plan the employer has to offer, and don't get me started on the customer service! I get a different answer depending on the time of day I call. It's a joke. I talk to Cigna more than I talk to my own mother.
