Cigna review in Rockville, Maryland: Stops coverage when bills begin.

The Cigna coverage was signed up for in April of 2014. There was a stipulation that a number of months must pass before the insurance can be used, so for the first checkup of the year, the insurance was not exercised, although Cigna was making monthly withdrawals of $40 on the credit card. Then, in October, after enough months had passed, following the second checkup of the year, the first bill was presented by the dentist. This was done using the ID number given by Cigna. The result was a denial that I was a client, even though over six months of withdrawals from a credit card had been made. The dentist made two attempts to collect, using the number that Cigna had provided, with failures both times. The monthly withdrawals from the credit card by Cigna stopped, and periodic email and postal mail from Cigna stopped. In short, Cigna honors the client until the first bill arrives, at which point it withdraws all information about the client from their system. Russell Haugen

I am a previous employee of this company. After disclosing a chronic health condition, I experienced discrimination and retaliation for reporting the discrimination.

I was eventually forced out of the company.

I guess those conditions can get expensive for the company. It is not just their customers, it is their employees as well.

Back Surgery Review

1.0
Details
Was denied back surgery the night before because they state I have not had enough procedures and testing. First of all I have had 8 years of procedures and they DENY most testing. Now they are blaming my DOCTOR. I lay here in pain reliant on pain meds just to get through everyday life.

Cigna review in Santa Rosa, California: Denial of claim

I have provided everything requested, and yet, they claim they need the information. It is ON THE RECEIPT ITSELF. It is ridiculous the run around they give you. Unfortunately, I am "stuck" with them, as my employer only offers Kaiser as the alternative, and we do not live in a Kaiser area. (NOT THAT I WANT THEM, Either!) I have called no less than 5 times, emailed the specialty person at least 10 times, filed a complaint with the Insurance Commissioner, and have filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office. (These are recent, so no response as of yet.) It will be interesting to see if they respond or act!

Cigna review in Vero Beach, Florida: Funny how insureds like us think this is a Gov't problem

I'm no fan of any health insurer, as a Dr, they all should be disbanded(as if) or limited to accessory health insurance over & above a universal plan for all Americans, Senators included. And as a Cigna insured, I see private insurers scrambling, as they always do, to evade and avoid paying claims to offset the new government mandated coverages. One thing I will state is that all your new policies are stronger than the 2013 pre-O-care policy. I will be filing complaints with my state's insurance commission(big deal-usually retired insurance execs) for a denied claim for 3 hours in an ER. I will try to negotiate with the ER company(most are NOT part of hospitals but independent contracted ER businesses). And if need be , I'll file suits against my insurer and handle it in small claims myself. Only about $1200 but it's a battle to pick to set an example.

I have never met a happy Cigna customer. Not a single one. If there's a poster child for the government taking control of insurance companies, Cigna is it.

Cigna review: Lies and Deceit

Cigna has reps who work for them in Claims especially in STD and LTD who are paid bonuses for claims they deny. Most people accept denials and forget. While some of us don't they use their legal puppets to manipulate you with form letters. My husband lost his health and job in Oct 2011. He was paying for premiums for STD and LTD. It was no problem getting the STD claim processed for payment for the time frame. Once that stopped they only paid his LTD for a short period of time regardless he had a Pulmonary Specialist who stated he could never work again. They denied and cut off his check in Feb 2013. While there was an SSA Disability application in process it does take a long time for these to complete. Bottom line Cigna was afraid he would collect his LTD and then be awarded his SSA payments. Today we are speaking with an attorney to SUE their *** off. We came close to losing our home. Never mind the emotional distress we went through of eating peanut butter for over a year and having to go on food stamps.

Seems to me they deny everyone. My policy through my employer had benefit of same job for two years, then any job after that.

Fortunately, Social Security approved me in two weeks from my submitting last of my paperwork. That's how obvious my condition is. After 2 years, Cigna sent me to a work comp doctor, a total quack who doesn't have a real office (rents temp space from physicians as he travels to "review" patients for insurance companies) My pulmonologist says I can't work, Social Security agrees, but Cigna decides I can work. Top it all off my receiving my case file with survalience that Cigna hired, showing me doing nothing outside the limits of my disability.

If you see a strange car sitting in your neighborhood and you're on Cigna disability, yes, they're watching you. I spoke to a couple of attorneys who said Cigna would settle for pennies on the dollar. I didn't bother, as Cigna knows most don't. But I spread the word.

The more people that know the truth, the less they will be able to deny legitimate claims in the future.

Unreachable Customer Service Review

It seems Cigna likes to play games with people's money. I'm owed 724.00 in reimbursement and called them over 11 times. No one cares I'm passed along, told being processed and nothing. I made requests for supervisors to call me back nothing.

Cigna Claim Review

Submitted a claim for reimbursement 4 months ago for 520.00. I have called numerous times and keep getting the run around from the last 4 agents I have spoken to. Today spoke with a supervisor and she said I need to resubmit the claim to her and it could take up to 30 days to process. I asked what the last 4 agents that I have talked done with my claim and she said she would reach out to them.
