Cigna review in Leesburg, Virginia: Discrimination and non-communication

CIGNA is refusing to communicate with me based on my disability. My disability requires me to communicate on a regular basis with the ins co. CIGNA is refusing. I need to find other insurance. I cannot file against them or it causes problems with employment. CIGNA has been holding this grudge against me for 6 months at least. They want to act like babies and pout. This may result in legal action if it gets far enough. My husband is having a hard time dealing with this but CIGNA insists that he do ALL the communicating. It is my severe medical condition that I need to communicate about and my husband does not know that much about it because it is so complex. Yet CIGNA wants him to become a medical goru overnite. They are harrassing the policy holder, my husband, and me by leaving messages and then when I call back they refuse to talk to me. So now I have started to save the messages so I have something to throw back in their face.

I have Cigna as my health insurance and I'm really starting to not like them. I been on an ongoing battle with them about my son speech therapy (whom have autism spectrum disorders) and they said speech therapy is not covered...

Since then I've taken my son off my insurance it was more of a hassle and stress.

He had Chip at the time and still does but St Joseph didn't bill them I guess because chip was the primary... I really want to find a better insurance company but this is the one my job provides.

Cigna review in Hopkins, Minnesota: Ran out of high blood pressure medicine as of 12/25/14

I am on high blood pressure medicine. I pay a monthly payment to Cigna, plus there huge deductible. To date they have paid zero towards any medical care for anything for me preventative or anything else. I requested a refill from my pharmacist, but Cigna told them I was not allowed to get a refill until January 8th 2015 even though my doctor prescribed the medicine for the next year and I had run out. Warnings say that you should not cold turkey stop taking this medicine. So even though they pay nothing zero nada towards my costs they take the action of telling the pharmacist not to give me the medicine. Can someone explain this???? Because these people make me sick literally.

Cigna - Disability Insurance Review from Gloucester City, New Jersey

Out on short term disability for hernia repair. The surgeon said recovery would be 6 to 8 weeks. After the long battle with Cigna and not getting paid for 3 weeks finally the checks started to come in and then 4 weeks after surgery the checks stopped. Called Cigna and they said they need doctors notes an checkup info so I got them the info and again the money started coming again. But now I was still out of work for another 2 weeks and Cigna said they will not approve more then 4 week because that is what the guidelines call for. I was never seen by a Cigna doctor to check my recovery progress. So who is the one calling the shots Cigna or your surgeon?B I'm back to work now but still don't have money because Cigna doesn't return calls. It going to be a wonderful Christmas for my kids. Thanks Cigna for taking my money every week.

Cigna review in Houston, Texas: Foreign Claim Process Time

I had medical emergency overseas back in mid September. When I came back to the States, I submitted a foreign Claim form with all the medical records and itemized bill. The form said it takes 10 to 15 days to process. After 20 days, I call them, and they have NO IDEA about the claim. After 45 mins on the phone, they were able to find the mail with the form and medical records (no one touch it yet). They told me we will scan the paper and process the claim immediately, please give us a week and we will get back with you. Guess what, after a week no one contact me as usual. I call back, and they have NO IDEA about the claim!!! AGAIN!!! Finally, they find the scanned images, but no one touched it yet! I asked to speak with a manager, manager (Cindy in Claims Dept) told me that she forwarded the claim to the appropriate person and she promised to contact me next day. Thank God she did, but she said that they sent me a mail to request more info. I get the mail in a week, and it is asking for the same exact info that was sent originally. All this and the claim is not even showing on my online portal. I call again on 12/01/14, and give them last confirmation number from the previous call, and they finally find the file. They said it will take 5 to 10 business days and it should appear on the portal in 48 hours. I call back today 12/11/14 because I havent heard from them and the claim is still not showing on my portal. The customer service rep looks at all the phone calls from the last two months, and tells me it will take 25 to 30 business day to process. I ask to speak to a manager, And (male with British accent) he apologize for the bad experience that I am having, and he said he will escalate the claim to be processed quickly. I ask him for time frame with this escalation, and he tells me "25 to 30 business day to process".!!!! I get better service from my cell phone provider than what I get from my healthcare provider!

Disability Coverage Review

My wife had short and long term disability with cigna thru her employer. She had a stroke and became disabled. When it came time for long term disability to kick in they refused to pay. We obtained an attorney and come to find out this is cignas sop. Google them. They are horrible. We wound up winning our case and they paid up but not without a fight. Overall. Cigna sucks.

I did NOT sign up with Cigna. for you lot to take over my life and dictate to me how I should live my life. that is NOT going to happen. bombarding my house with junk mail. and expect me to read it all. NO. going to send a doctor/nurse to my house to do a 360 a head to toe medical. for my wife and I. NO CHANCE! I will find another health company before I will allow Cigna to treat me like a five year old. is this how all you healthcare companies treat pensioners in this country. a disgrace

We have been an in-network provider for Cigna for over 20 years and in the last few months there has been numerous issues in obtaining payment and pre-treatment estimates on behalf of our patients. The back log for some is now over 6 months and the issues range from 1- misrepresentation of contract benefits for the insured 2- claims being stalled in their system for no reason 3 - request of information even though it was already sent and we have verification by electronic claim receipt. 4- denial of claims ( for covered services ) with no explanation. 5 - different explanations of claim status and or denials on our EOB's (explanation of benefits ) vs. what the insureds EOB's state. 6 - no follow up as promised by supervisors in Dental Claim Depts.

I am a previous employee of this company and also had their benefits. After disclosing a chronic health condition, I experienced discrimination and retaliation for reporting the discrimination.

I was eventually forced out of the company. This was after disability leave. I also was there the day they forced a diabetic employee out of the company. No one makes them follow the laws.

I think Cigna does this stuff because they can. Who is going to stop them or enforce the laws?
