Cigna - Medication Review from Cleveland, Ohio
CIGNA the money grabbers took nearly half of my husbands settlement from the Pradaxa class action lawsuit. He was forced to take this medication when my previous employer switched from Medical Mutual to CIGNA. Medical Mutual had no problem authorizing in home blood tests for INR checks for the blood thinner Coumadin for 4.5 years. CIGNA refused so we had to find a medication that he could take that wouldn't require blood tests. My husband ended up in ICU for 5 days with a gastrointestinal bleed after less than 4 months on Pradaxa. He was awarded $125,000 which was reduced to $104,000 after a lot of people jumped onboard when the settlement was announced. After attorney fees he should have received $58,000. However CIGNA liened the settlement & took almost half leaving us with very little to pay for his care (Mike is now so ill he is in a hospital bed @ home). But greedy money grubbing CIGNA had to take almost half of the award from a man who is seriously ill, whose health was ruined by this gastrointestinal bleed. Shame shame shame on u CIGNA. U caused the problem in the first place.

Accepted claim but Cigna refuses to pay full weekly benefit. BAD FAITH CLAIM HANDLING.
I pay for short term disability through employer payroll deduction. My disability rate is $1,221.19 per week per employer. Cigna is only paying me $117.00 per. I applied for California state disability online but my doctor does not certify online thus requiring me to wait for the State to send me blank med certification to take to my doctor. Adjuster was advised of this and I requested my full benefit from Cigna and I would sign an agreement to reimburse Cigna $1,104.00 per week when the state pays me disability. Adjuster told me in a 3 person telephone conference call that Cigna does not do this. I demanded a copy of my policy. Policy allows Cigna to pay my full benefit if I show proof of applying for state disability and if I sign an agreement to reimburse Cigna. This appears to be bad claims handling practice.

Cigna review in Gautier, Mississippi: Customer Service:
Called about over charge on co-payment that was blamed on the computer.Told me they would check into it & call me back.Week & a half went by when I had to call,rep told me she couldn't see anything in the computer on the situation that she would help me.Told her I was not repeating myself continuously,for her to do her job & research the notes.She finally see's notes.Asked for supervisor,she informs she'll call pharmacy when she returns tomorrow & & call me.Nothing happened.Called back,rep finally gets all tended to after a total of 2 hrs. on the phone to get them to earn their money.Asked for corporate info to report this,nobody has it.Kept having supervisors on phone telling me to write a complaint ,which would take more of my time that they could care less about.Asked of them to write it up as I was telling them & forward it to complaints & corporate.Found corporate number,have yet to receive phone call.

Cigna - Dental Insurance Review from Simpsonville, South Carolina
I have cigna through cobra. Cobra sent 4 inforce files to provide me with coverage. It took cigna 2 months to update their inforce. I went to the dentist twice in this period of time. One claim from nov 2014 they have lost and i will have to get my dentist to resubmit. The other claim fro dec 2014 they denied saying i had no coverage. It was supposed to be resumbmitted automatically after i force update and was not. I have called twice on that claim and was told it can take 3 weeks to pay a claim which is a lie. It took 1 day for them to deny it. I have called cigna a total of 8 times so far trying to get 2 caims paid. Months later i am still trying to get those 2 claims paid. I worked in I/T in dental for a competitor of cigna and i can tell you cigna is full of lies. They are the worst.

Cigna review in Gainesville, Georgia: No customer service + Billing errors
If a company can't even get your enrollment right and offers no way to contact them, how can they get your health service right? I am billed for dental coverage and get no info. re: my plan. The phone number given is never answered. I get a bill and no way to pay on-line....just via phone with 30+ minute waits. My bills were actually supposed to be deducted from my account, but they got that wrong too. I haven't even tried to use any medical/dental services yet and am already running into a total lack of customer service. LOTS of people to answer the phone and help if you want to BUY a plan, but once you've bought, forget concern for your needs.
