Cigna Sucks

I hurt my lower back and I have been out of work since Oct. 2014. I went to my PC and then to a chiropractor. My spine was crooked and I had a hard time doing anything. I was so crooked that one leg was almost 1 inch longer than the other. People with back troubles know what I'm talking about. My chiropractor was a huge help in getting me straightened out again. I still have pain and 2 herniated discs, and now have a pinched neck nerve. I get headaches everyday as well. I stand, walk, do excercises, and lie down whenever I need to. Some days are better than others but that doesn't mean I am 100%. Cigna decided to close my case after 7 months without even seeing me so I got a lawyer and we'll see what happens. Idiots! I am able to walk my dog and do a little raking but it's no more than 1 hr. I am waiting on my state also as I have no health insurance and I just want to get the help I need so I can get back to work.

cigna is a *** company with *** employees run by *** people they suck. they take your money then fight your claim.

they cut my benefits 5 times in 8 years.

have to keep getting a lawyer involved. get your insurance some place else

Cigna review in Greenville, Florida: Carecentrix is fraud plain and simple

They send you about 20 bills each with different amounts for different procedures not defined in detail. All state your insurance did not cover them. I resubmitted my claims to my insurance company many time over and each time carecentrix would come up with a reason to cover a small portion but not all until the remaining charges were sent to a collection agency. Never again will I have any medical work done at a facility that uses them. EVER!! This was the worst experience I have ever had directly in dealing with a third party company that provides services for a dr.

Cigna is the Insurer they Ultimately try to put the blame on someone else, the truth is they are ultimately responsible, this is all a game they plat. First find out from Cigna who regulates Insurance in your state. Contact them and file a written Complaint, then contact your State Representative and ask them for assistance, as this is an outrage, They continue to get away with this because the public/ the Insured lets them

Cigna review in Little Rock, Arkansas: Claims filed incorrectly each quarter

September 2014 DME claim for insulin pump supplies still not resolved. Cigna is stating that Carecentrixs did not send a claim for them to process as secondary. Every quarter I have to be the middle man getting issues resolved between CareCentrixs and Cigna. Carecentrixs for whatever reason, only submits the coinsurance that my primary states I am liable for. Why are you not submitting the claim to show the full bill chare that's reflected on the primary EOB?? Like I said each quarter I go through this and it takes a while to get the claim paid. When I call there is always an extended hold time, the reps are not very knowledgeable. I basically end up telling them how to do their jobs and I do not wokr for them. I am very knowledgable about insurance as I have been working in this field for quite some time. Come on Carecentrixs and get it together. This is so frustrating.

Horrible customer service! They don't cover what they say they will what you pay for. They have very few dentists that are in keyword. And, even if you find a dentist on their website listed as in network, they pay out of network percentages. When you dispute the claim and send screen shots of their website page where it shows the dentist listed as is in network? Its denied. Best part... my eob has a cute little note at the bottom that says "thank you for using an in network provider." Worst insurance I've had in my life!

horrible! dont apply for their voluntary life coverage or disability through them from your employer they are just horrible, un educated people who are not involved in the medical field, they just wing it and decline you even if you are one pound over weight. if you want life insurance, go somewhere else cigna seems to play favorites with people who make a lot of money and you make a fit about being declined

CIGNA - WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO EXPERIENCE

I have a Connecticut General life insurance policy that is now administrated by CIGNA. I have been paying quarterly via auto-check for years. I paid my October 1, 2014 bill for $133 promptly, as always. In December 2014, I received a letter indicating that my Life Insurance Policy was cancelled due to non-payment of the October 1, 2014 premium. WTF! I downloaded the cancelled check from my bank web site which showed that the check I sent was deposited to CIGNA's account on October 9, 2014. I called and waited on hold for over 30 minutes! Finally spoke to a customer service rep who said she would relate the problem to their billing department and that I would receive a reinstatement notice within a week. I was never contacted, and called again two weeks later. Waited on hold for over 30 minutes again! Finally spoke to another Customer Service Rep who acknowledged that my payment was indeed received back in October, but was not correctly applied to my policy. I was assured that it would corrected and should pay the January 1 premium - even though my policy was still considered terminated due to their own error. I did pay the premium on January 4th and that check cleared my bank within two weeks. By mid January I still had no contact from CIGNA that my policy was reinstated, so I called CIGNA a third time. ONCE AGAIN, waited on hold for over 30 minutes! Was told my policy was reinstated and October payment was finally correctly applied. Late January I finally receive a letter stating that my policy is reinstated, and included an apology that a late payment notice was never sent. However, the letter did not acknowledge that they misapplied my payment and indicated that it was MY FAULT that the policy lapsed due to non-payment. WTF! First week in February, I receive a bill for a January 1st bill. I call a forth time and waited on hold for over 30 minutes again. This time I explain that I already sent a check on back in January, and am concerned that it was misapplied AGAIN! Customer service rep tells me that she 'sees my payment in the system' and that everything is okay - just ignore the bill and my policy is fine. Fast forward to March 15th, 2015. I receive a bill for my April 1st payment. It states that I owe an additional $110 for "Unpaid cost of insurance from previous periods" WTF! I call CIGNA a fifth time. Waited on hold for over 30 minutes. Took 10 minutes of explaining the history of all their mistakes before I am finally told to just ignore the extra charge and pay only the premium due. She admits that their billing department is swamped, makes lots of errors, unable to handle the load, and it will 'work itself out' in a few more months. Seriously? I will pay the April 1 premium and EXPECT something to be misapplied, or applied months late again. I EXPECT to have to call them again. I expect to wait on hold for over 30 minutes again! CIGNA, is by far, the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service department is useless. Their billing department and billing practices are atrocious. I strongly recommend that anyone considering insurance with CIGNA look elsewhere.

I had Cigna for approximately 10 months without any claims or deductibles. I realized today that they increased my premium (autopay) from $160 / mo to $315!! I called to point out that they were accidentally double billing me... only to find out that they had mailed me some letter amongs the thousands of junk letters they sent that informed me my rates would be increasing unless I opted into a different program. OK, so I'd like to adjust my program now. Too bad. Open enrollment doesn't start for another 7 months. Their "retention department" basically said FU.... there's nothing you can do anyways and unless you had a qualifying life event other insurance companies won't enroll you. They were right. So now I am stuck with the insurance company that secretly doubled my rates and won't let me update my plan. Now I understand why they jacked my rates.... they knew there is nothing I could do about it. What a mess of an industry.

Cigna review in Atlanta, Georgia: They deny imaging even when they pay 10% of your premium a year in medical costs.

Cigna outsources approvals for medical imaging to an unknown entity. They denied the CT scan that my primary care doctor ordered (she has been my primary care doctor for 16 years and knows a lot more than the bean counters at CIGNA) - she ordered the scan after I had non-heart chest pains and lost 20 pounds in a month - CIGNA denied the claim. I pay $16,000 a year to them for my family and incur under $5,000 a year and they harass us about a claim that is part of the $5,000- ***, monolithic company. Going back to United, Cigna cares more about saving money than about the health of their members.
